As we all know, COVID-19 has changed almost every couple's wedding plans by postponing, cancelling, eloping, or adjusting to a smaller wedding. Lara & Amanda chose to postpone their big Halloween wedding to 2021 and have an intimate outdoor backyard wedding with about 25 guests at one of their parent's houses in Reading, PA. They saw each other before the wedding for a few couple's photos, had their ceremony, followed by formal photos with guests, dinner and hanging out. They got a Quaker/self-uniting license to marry each other and the ceremony was so sweet! In pandemic fashion, other guests joined by watching the ceremony on zoom.
These wedding gallery photographs prove that you can have a fun, completely personalized, and COVID-19 safe wedding that is absolutely stunning. It seemed that their close family and friends worked together to prepare the space and make it a lovely wedding event without a traditional location, catering hall, officiant, and other vendors so that they could minimize their guest count. Their family prepared the backyard by renting a tent for guests, adding tables, chairs, and heat lamps. They decorated the arbor walkway attached to the deck and hung fairy lights all over which transformed the space. Since it was late October in Pennsylvania, leaves surrounding their backyard were a gorgeous shade of yellow and they added seasonal flowers, pumpkins, and other decorations. Family members made food and desserts.
Let's talk about their outfits and the Halloween theme! Lara and Amanda got married on Halloween and rocked a sparkling black dress and an orange suit. They had personalized face masks made that said “Mohr love / love Mohr” on one side and had an LGBTQ pride flag on the other side. Their favors included potion book boxes with candy, customized tattoos, and treats inside. Take a close look at the flowers, too. Lara handmade them all herself out of felt! Even their dog showed up in a cuuute custom!
Now for the photos:
They chose to wear face masks during the formal photos with family / friends for everyone's safety during the pandemic.
